RICV Executive Director

Resources for Independence Central Valley (RICV), located in Fresno California, is seeking an energetic and forward-thinking Executive Director. During the past eighteen months, RICV has transformed operations, policies, structure, and significantly strengthened its financial position. Additionally, we will be relocating to  a new, custom designed office location in Central Fresno later this year. This new facility will provide opportunities for growth and offer new and innovative services for our consumers and the community.

Our next Executive Director should have significant experience in fund development, building and maintaining partnerships in the community, developing programs and services that reflect the needs of individuals with disabilities and the broader community, and, most importantly, demonstrate knowledge, understanding, commitment, and experience with the Independent Living philosophy.

RICV’s main office is located in Fresno with branch offices in Merced and Visalia. The organization has been a part of the Independent Living movement since 1976. We value and ensure consumer control in the operation of RICV with  a majority of our staff and board members being people with disabilities. One of our greatest strengths is our diverse and skilled workforce with several having many years of service to the organization. RICV provides independent living services within a five-county area.

Qualifications: a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in human service management or a related field with additional education preferred. Five years of upper-level management in the nonprofit field including oversight of financials, budgets, human resources, and other responsibilities typically assigned to an executive position. Demonstrated success with grant writing, fund development and program development required. 

Fresno is truly in the middle of everything that is great about California! We are located within two hours of three national parks including Yosemite, Sequoia, and Kings Canyon offering winter sports, hiking, and year-round recreation. The beautiful pacific Coast is equally close and the excitement of the City by the Bay is easily accessible. Highlights of Fresno, California’s fifth largest city include many farmers markets with local vendors selling fresh produce year-round, California State University, Fresno, a growing arts and music scene, and much more.
