Whole Foods has entered into an agreement to settle a class action lawsuit concerning accessibility of its stores for individuals who use wheelchairs or scooters for mobility, according to a release by Simpluris, Inc.
If an individual used or uses a wheelchair or scooter for mobility and shopped at a Whole Foods in California between December 21, 2006 through September 15, 2011, they might be eligible for monetary recovery. Copy of the claim form is attached. Claims must be filed before December 15, 2011.
Under the settlement, Whole Foods will make alterations to all of its California corporate owned stores to become fully accessible to the mobility impaired, and will pay $500,000 to a fund to be distributed to class members, minus the cost of the administration of the fund.
